Chindex helped establish and is affiliated with The United Foundation for China's Health (UFCH), which develops model programs that provide access to innovative, multidisciplinary healthcare for vulnerable populations in China.
UFCH works through partner organizations to provide care to orphans, the disabled, the abused, migrant workers and the elderly. UFCH offers these organizations access to the best medical care China has to offer. This medical care is predominately free, or offered at very reduced costs. UFCH provides nearly 50 partner organizations throughout China with medical services through its Wheels for Life Community Health Van.
UFCH provides orphans and other under-served populations with chronic disease management, preventative healthcare screenings, mental health care, specialist care, surgical care, mobile healthcare and emergency care. It also promotes Primary Healthcare through practice and education. UFCH has a Foundation Clinic staffed by Primary Healthcare Doctors and Fellows from United Family Healthcare and elsewhere. In order to reach the root of many medical emergencies, UFCH also provides ongoing training, education and seminars to caregivers, doctors and nurses and the general public.
Operating in China since 2001, the United Foundation for China’s Health is a registered U.S. charitable organization, granted permanent 501(c)(3) Public Charity Status by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service in 2005 (EIN: 51-0407118).
Every year, United Family Healthcare (UFH) provides services in kind to UFCH, equivalent to one percent of its revenue, to help underserved populations receive life-changing healthcare.
